Commander’s Mansion

The Commander’s Mansion, once known as Quarter’s III, was constructed in 1865 by Major Thomas Rodman, the commanding officer of the Watertown Arsenal. The mansion was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 1976. The Mansion is now owned and operated by the Town of Watertown. The property is located at the rear of the former Watertown Arsenal; the Mansion is an impressive example of Italianite-Victorian architecture.

We can accommodate up to 200 guests throughout the Mansion and our seven acre property. Our lush green terrain includes a beautiful Grape Arbor for onsite ceremonies, as well as both an East and West Lawn for cocktail hour. The Talcott and Rodman suites are located on the second floor {each with an en suite bath} are your private spaces to gather and get ready.

When planning your next corporate meeting or offsite gathering, the mansion offers a unique environment where your team or large scale event can connect in a relaxed and spacious setting. We offer breakout rooms, free parking and wifi connection. The mansion is a handsome backdrop for your film set or photoshoot. Whether it’s a lifestyle or commercial shoot, we welcome you home, to your set for the day.
